Milenial generation shows more interest in the capital market. On this occasion, Accounting students of President University visited an investment manager company, PT BNI Asset Management. The aim of this visit is to introduce students to capital market.

Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA, one of the Accounting Study Program lecturers stated that with this visit the students could see how to apply accounting theory in work places. “President University students are taught how to analyse securities, stocks & obligation and how to allocate investment asset in mutual fund; from macro economy, capital market condition, company performance and technical analysis point of view. The students are also taught how to manage mutual fund from process and accounting system,” said Josep Ginting at Jakarta (13/3).

Beside the application of securities and obligations analysis, students are expected to assess their quality in the capital market.

“Aside from investment, students will understand more about their learning method and its quality because capital market industry requires individual license, thus the students will be aware of their individual quality,” continue Josep Ginting.

Students are the target of capital market companies. PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) reported that young investors are dominating 30.06% of the total Stock Exchange’s investor, 1.118.913 investors on 2017. The numbers include 3.82% of teenagers (age under 20 years old) and 26.24% of young adults (age between 21 – 30 years old).

Belajar Pasar Modal, Mahasiswa President University Kunjungi BNI Asset Management

Generasi milenial semakin tertarik dengan pasar modal. Kali ini, mahasiswa President University jurusan Akuntansi mengunjungi perusahaan pasar modal, PT BNI Asset Management. Kunjungan mahasiswa ke perusahaan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dunia pasar modal kepada mahasiswa.

Salah satu dosen program studi Akuntansi, Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA, menyebutkan bahwa dengan kunjungan ini para mahasiswa dapat melihat bagaimana teori akuntansi yang diajarkan di kampus diaplikasikan ke dalam dunia kerja.

“Mahasiswa President University diajarkan bagaimana melakukan analisa efek saham dan obligasi dan bagaimana melakukan alokasi asset investasi dalam reksadana baik dari sudut makro ekonomi, kondisi pasar modal, kinerja perusahaan itu sendiri dan dari segi technical analysis. Kemudian, mahasiswa juga diajari mengelola reksadana meliputi proses dan sistem akuntansi untuk reksadana,” tutur Josep Ginting di Jakarta (13/3).

Selain aplikasi analisis efek dan obligasi, dalam kunjungan ini mahasiswa juga diharapkan mampu menilai kualitas dirinya di dunia pasar modal.

“Selain itu dalam hal investasi, mahasiswa akan lebih paham mengatur cara dan kualitas belajarnya karena di industri pasar modal sangat sarat dengan lisensi perorangan, sehingga mahasiswa sadar akan kualitas dirinya secara individual.” lanjut Josep Ginting.

Mahasiswa memang menjadi target investor para perusahaan pasar modal. PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) melaporkan bahwa investor muda mendominasi 30,06% dari total pemodal di bursa efek yang berjumlah 1.118.913 investor sepanjang tahun 2017. Angka tersebut terdiri atas 3,82% remaja usia 20 tahun ke bawah dan 26,24% generasi muda usia 21-30 tahun.

Dalam kunjungan ini, rombongan mahasiswa President University disambut oleh President Director PT. BNI Asset Management, Reitha Farianthi; Investment and Operational Director, Putut Endro Andanawarih; serta Business Development Director, Donny S. Adjie. (MSh)
