Cikarang, Indonesia — Anastasia Purwanti, one of students of Management Study Programme President University won the Excellent Award in ICESS (International Conference on Economic and Social Science) that was held by The IRES (The Institute of Researchers, Engineers and Scientists) in Bangkok, Thailand on March 5-6, 2017.
Anastasia won the award with a paper entitled “An Evolution of City Branding to Reinforce the City Competition: A Case Study of Surabaya” which is also her undergraduate thesis research.
“Because the topic is interesting, my undergraduate thesis supervisor suggested me to publish this research through an international conference, and I finally got the Excellent Award in ICESS Bangkok”, said Anastasia
.
This is not the first time for Anastasia to participate in such conference, last year Anastasia and her team awarded with the best paper in Research Methodology class and they submitted their paper to ICESS Hongkong 2016. Their paper selected to participate in the conference and was already published in an international journal. They were also offered to publish the research in a book by Lambert Publication (a German publisher) and currently still in the process.
Anastasia is an active student and has won several competitions, which are: First in National Marketing Debate Competition in Universitas Kristen Petra Surabaya 2015, First in National Marketing Plan Competition in Univeristas Trilogi 2016, Second in National Management Case Analysis Competition 2016, and Astra 1st Awardee Batch 5 by PT Astra International 2016.
"The University (President University) Rectorate is very supportive, specifically in research development and publication. The Head of Management Study Programme, Mrs. Genoveva, who is also my undergraduate thesis supervisor always help and support me until now”, stated Anastasia. (SL)
