Cikarang, Indonesia—President University (PresUniv) held a seminar titled “Business in Electricity Industry 2018” which was held on Wednesday (21/3) in Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, Bekasi. The seminar aimed to give bigger picture to students on the electricity industry in this modern era as well as to the competency that needed for future development.
Attended the event, Adrian Lembong (Vice President of PT Adaro Power), Ulysses Ruly Simandjuntak (Former Vice President of Electricity Transaction, former Deputy Director of PT PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), former Vice Chairman of Indonesian Electricity Society, former Advisor of PT Medco Power Indonesia), Djefri Cantono (Director of PT Bekasi Power), Dr.-Ing. Erwin Sitompul, S.T., M.Sc (Dean of Faculty of Engineering), Ir. J. Budhi Susetiyo (Director of Internship and Career Center and Communication), and approximately 40 students and lecturers.
In this seminar the speakers explained the opportunities and challenges in the business of electric industry as well as the future technology trend related with the electricity. In Indonesia, electrification rate has seen a significant growth over the last decade, currently stood at 95.35 %.
Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) aims to reach 100% of electrification ratio by 2024. Specifically for small villages, PLN aims to reach 100% electrification ratio by the end of 2018. Thus, with the increase in usage, renewable energy is the inevitable future of power generation industry.
"Communication with the faculty or students is an important part in the future development of business in general. In terms of company and I personally, we always feel happy when we got the opportunity to be able to interact with students because this gives us additional input, there are interesting thoughts that can also affect or improve our business concept. So in principle, if there is an event like this or a visit from the faculty or university to our company, we always welcome. We also really appreciate all the interactions we can do with President University," said Adrian Lembong.
Cikarang, Indonesia—President University (PresUniv) menyelenggarakan sebuah seminar “Business in Electricity Industry 2018” yang diselenggarakan pada Rabu (21/3) di Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, Bekasi. Seminar ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran yang lebih besar kepada mahasiswa tentang industri kelistrikan di era modern ini serta kompetensi yang dibutuhkan untuk pengembangan di masa depan.
Turut hadir dalam acara ini, Adrian Lembong (Wakil Presiden Adaro Power), Ulysses Ruly Simandjuntak (Mantan Wakil Presiden Transaksi Listrik, mantan Wakil Direktur PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), mantan Wakil Ketua Indonesian Electricity Society, mantan Penasehat PT Medco Power Indonesia), Djefri Cantono (Direktur PT Bekasi Power), Dr.-Ing. Erwin Sitompul, S.T., M.Sc (Dekan Fakultas Teknik), Ir. J. Budhi Susetiyo (Direktur Pusat Magang dan Karir, dan Komunikasi), dan setidaknya 40 mahasiswa dan dosen.
Dalam seminar ini para pembicara menjelaskan peluang dan tantangan dalam bisnis industri listrik serta tren teknologi masa depan yang terkait dengan listrik. Tingkat elektrifikasi telah mengalami pertumbuhan yang signifikan selama dekade terakhir, saat ini mencapai 95,35%. PLN bertujuan untuk mencapai 100% rasio elektrifikasi pada tahun 2024. Khusus untuk desa-desa kecil, tujuan PLN untuk mencapai rasio elektrifikasi 100% pada akhir 2018. Dengan demikian, dengan meningkatnya penggunaan listrik, energi terbarukan adalah masa depan industri pembangkit listrik yang tak terelakkan.
“Komunikasi dengan fakultas ataupun mahasiswa itu adalah bagian yang penting dalam pengembangan masa depan bisnis maupun usaha secara umum. Dari segi perusahaan maupun saya pribadi selalu merasa senang saat mendapat kesempatan untuk bisa berinteraksi dengan mahasiswa karena hal ini memberikan kita masukan tambahan, ada pemikiran-pemikiran menarik yang bisa juga mempengaruhi atau memperbaiki konsep bisnis kita. Jadi secara prinsip memang bila ada seperti ini atau kunjungan dari fakultas atau universitas untuk pergi ke perusahaan, kami selalu menyambut baik. Kami juga sangat menghargai seluruh interaksi yang bisa kita lakukan dengan President University,” ungkap Adrian Lembong.
